Rhode Island Monthy Design Award

It's official: we're not the only ones who like our super-efficient townhouses on Battey Street. Earlier this fall, we received a silver from the Rhode Island Monthly Annual Design Awards.

2014 Design Awards - Battey Street

As the juror's noted, Battey Street is an affordable, energy-efficient pair of townhouses built on an incredibyl tight lot on Providence's west side. It was among the first houses in the state to achieve tier-three status from National Grid and uses approximately 40% of the energy of a comparably sized new building. And it does so without sacrificing design or style. From our perspective it's a model of what sustainable development should look like: sensitive to the surrounding context, energy efficient, and affordable.
